Helpful Rocket-jumping Tips

I'm just tired of reiterating my self all over the place so I'll sum it up instead and leave you guys to hopefully figure it out on your own. In competitive play you can kiss the demo goodbye and you'll see the soldier jumping everywhere. With the addition of the medic combo in TF2, it certainly has broken previous TF models, though that is no surprise because Valve has always been known to screw every game they've taken over (1.6 anyone?) As for specialty maps I know all about them and it still stands that 'sticky' (which is easier than pipe) jumping is pathetically easy compared to rocket jumping. Enjoy.

Theres no such thing as a "competitive" jump map, and I made a distinction between Jump tf2 and actual tf2 games. In TF2 competitive scenarios soldier rocket jumping is taking himself away from his group, he better be ready to have a suicide rush or an escape plan in the works because if the enemy team is halfway organized hes headbutting 3-4 people at once. TF2 is its own game, not exactly a sequel to TFC or FF, just like how Dawn of War 2 isn't a sequel to Dawn of War 1, different games, different beasts. If they wanted to make TFC2 they would've just called TF2 and expansion. The medic combo makes the mode of competitive TF2 a series of ubers and counter ubers, with a mix of medic assassination attempts. TF2 nocrit scrimming, medics the rule. You advance when you have one, and retreat when you've lost him and haven't killed theirs. Soldiers are the power, scouts are the speed, medic is the endurance, and demoman is the safety net and trapper. Before you throw away demoman as worthless in competitive environments, realize that almost any team worth mentioning gives up scouts before him.

Sticky jumping is easy, the only time I've considered them hard is on jump_hobo's various amount of times where you need to place a sticky, launch with another sticky in the air so it hits the wall for you to blast off the wall. But there is just so little you can do with sticky jumps, at least when I'm a soldier I can have the HP to put up some resistance in the 6v6 when rocket jumping.
