I think not in game but definitely in VENT. We can have seprate Vent channels representing different styles of music. Of course I would do talk radio <_<............

well if council gives me the go ahead i can get the program going on the computer i have in my studio, then everybody just needs to vote on what type of genre we should do. I have all the server files to run it plus I still got my old server we used for the stations I did in the past.

I remember that I used to play on another clans server before joining eGO and they had some kind of a radio station connected to all there gaming pubs. It was pretty cool! I remember playing TF2 and listening to the radio at the same time.
The radio station offered almost all forms of musical styles and genres. It was fun listening to classical or rock while gaming. Like having your own home stereo blasting while gaming.
But this radio your thinking about doing, I don't understand what it is and how it will benefit our clan/family. We need to do more research in it before venturing out into more venues for our organization.

there are two major things i'd like to point out about listening to music while playing:
1) people could just fire up their own media player/winamp/ whatever else and play their own music, thus avoiding any issues such as "You never play music i like!!"
2) most importantly, in a game such as CoD4, i base half my strategy on hearing people before i see them so i have an advantage over them, and that might be kinda hard to do with music being played all the time!
now you might tell me that there will be an option to mute the radio while on the servers, but then again, people who want that music can have their own music played by their computer/stero without disturbing any other players, and it's simply not worth investing time, money and manpower to something that is as uncertain as this!

Well sir, the setup that I encountered was designed to only be heard by the person doing the gaming. Not the entire public. I wasn't talking about a radio in our own vent channel like our music channel where everyone can heat it. The program only allowed each individual to listen to there own genre type of music. There were times where I just wanted to play with no music and concentrate on the sounds of the game. Then there were times that I didn't care about the sounds of the game and would listen to a radio station instead.

i'm totally with you john, and i fully agree with this way of thinking for the radio, indeed if it's implemented, this is how it should be! Yet i had all of these in mind before, i understood the thread's intention, and my question remains: is it a good idea for eGO to undertake this project when players can just fire up their own songs while they're playing with no effort from the server? I mean, if they want to listen to music, wouldn't they be better off listening to music stored on their pc? Better quality, total control over the choice of music, and hey, if they want to listen to a radio station, they can stream one online!
but if the radio IS implemented, what you said should be the guidelines and parameters of its operation!
