I think its pretty nice, and with that processor you are of course buying some good future-proofing as well.

Personally, I would go with AMD. I saw a 3 GHz Dual Core AMD processor awhile back that was around $160.

I know you said you have it but... a QUALITY 500+ watt PSU the new video cards and multicore processors are power hungry beasties.
