For TF2 in all eGO servers i seem to skip around alot. My character isn't skipping either, it is the people and shotting and etc... My ping is about 65 in the game and it doesn't go up at all.... I don't know how to fix this. Any help?

is this happening with any other source games ? or any other games in general ?
single player? multi player ?

Does the game perform normally for a little while but then start pausing for a few seconds at a time ?

Need a little bit better description of the problem, and then some Statistics from your computer. esp mobo, processor, ram, HD. From there we can start narrowing down the problem.

It's also completely possible that while your ping remains good, you could simply be having packet loss issues which would cause brief pauses and then everything sort of skips around while it catches up.

Has this always happened? I suggest reinstalling Steam, but saving the files like sound, etc. so you don't have to download them.

Could be a few things, one could be your rates, check them and change them if needed.

If youre on wireless, I suggest investing in a megaplug, I had the same problem on wireless, and then I switched to the mega plug and there was instantaneous love.

Yes this problem can also be caused by packet loss

No i went and changed my rates out of stupidty and i tried going back and it didn't help.

What is the server tickrate and sv_maxrate?

Not sure but that is optional.
you don't need to fill that out unless you are just going to be playing on the eGO servers.

it has been going on for awhile.

yea its been a little laggy for me for the part few days. my ping went up from 49-50 to 68-76.


try using an ethernet cable and hardwire your connection. Its always better to do it that way for a steady connection.
