point system

I guess I've always hated the point system, because it alters the way that people play. The game was set up to award first-and-foremost flag caps, and frags as a secondary objective. All that the points system seem to do is encourage people to snipe, mg, or camp around corners (creating frustrating stalemates).

I think the system works, but needs a little tweaking to be really great. I agree that if some new person kills a vet, then they should get a lot of points, but ONLY if they did the majority of the damage. What I hate is when one person who is experienced weakens me to like 10hp...and then the new person gets a lucky hs and then they get 25 points. I just think small things like that hurt the system, but with a little time spent tweaking and thinking things out, it could be a real beauty.

I totally agree with that. That is the principal reason why I don't really pay any attention to the point system.

well today i played and had a 4.01 kill death ratio .
but see the point system on every server has flaws. but no system can be perfect but i think if the advisers tweak little things it would be alot more fun in the server and flag caps i just get defend 1's and still make top 5 ppl

As much as I agree with ya Blasphemy... I really could care less about points, im just in it to have fun and try and get as many kills in one consecutive life as i can hehe

I too have had this frustration but I just shrugged it off, and turned the hlstats spam off.
Afterward I was playing just to play and not for points which is more fun Plus I think I do better when there isn't any pressure on me. Soze I'm fine with whatever you guys are up for.

The way I see it, the points are just there to give a generic idea of ranking. I don't think it's important, I just play for fun and I don't play on the =(eGO)= servers for the points, I play because it's the best place to find good players who are good guys.
