FPS problem

Hey guys, i just updated my drivers so i know that isnt the problem but im only getting around 10, yes 10 fps...thats it! i have a NVDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 graphics card, i go at around 9-10 when i play the game and when i die i can hit up to around 30... i thought this was normal personally but then tear it up told me he hits around 100 fps and i was like O-O so please if anyone could help me with my problem it would be appreceated ^^", i even just joined my own server to check my fps without lag and its the same thing

What do you have your settings set to?

like my models and stuff? i let my steam pick what my settings are to perform best on my computer, should i put them down?

Put all of your settings as low as possible first.
Then see how much you get.

Your gonna have to update your Gcard, thats the only way your gonna get anything higher then 30, maybe more ram and a powercell to go with it.

That is a good motherboard GPU, but They are still limited.
I suggest getting a new graphics card.
If I am correct your Motherboard should have a pci x16.
meaning that you could a lot of cards for that slot.

Source games are very dependent on CPU speed as well. What CPU do you have?

Also, upgrading the 6150 LE wouldn't hurt either. I think that's the absolute minimum required to play nearly all Source engine games.

Yea its your gpu. The poeple getting more fps than you are because they have a dedicated graphics card. If you upgrade that it will help out a ton. Also, as stated above upgrading your cpu would help as well because source games love using your cpu.

Ok. You would benefit from a dedicated video card. From what I remember, 8800 GT's and 9600 GT's are relatively inexpensive now. If you can get one of those, your FPS and detail would skyrocket.

The Specs sheet says that you've got a PCI-e x16 slot. You need a better GPU.

EDIT: 9600 GT is my recommendation. It's less than $100

What are you talking about, that's integrated graphics.

I upgraded from my bad motherboard (which i dont even know it, i know its fail tho) to Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT, and i recommend upgrading to any card above 8600 GT if you can.
It also sometimes depends on the server. If alot of people are on and server + ping going slow, then fps is affected. I noticed when avalanche is full my fps is around the 20s and i have 2 active graphic cards.
