well about a year ago i bought an ipod touch "1st gen" and i was being an idiot and messing around with it until one day it turned off and wouldnt come back on. i tried everything. I gave up on it and bought a 2nd gen ipod touch. For Christmas i revieved an ipod dock and today i was cleaning my room and found my old ipod, so i wanted to see what would happen if i plugged it into the dock, i did and the dock recognized it!!! i was shocked. So i quicky hooked it up to my comp and tried a new method i learned and it booted!!!

yeah just thought id share this with you xD
 
There's no hold for the iPod Touch.

If that ever happens, just hold the top power button and the Home button for a minute straight. It should turn back on, if it's only a software problem.
