CPU comparision

I was wondering which one would be the better cpu becasue i am building a new comp for gaming :]
I think that GHz is all that matters but i know that im wrong like i was with power supplies.

But save a bit and get something newer, like a phenom 9xx, 45nm Intel Quad or i7

Well, the first two (The two CPUs with the +'s at the end of the model number: 6400+ and 6000+) are the same except for GHz, but the last one is the 6000+ (It's labeled wrong, it DOES have a + at the end), which, although has a higher GHz rating (3.1) than the 6000+ (3.0), has only half the L2 cache (1MB vs 2x1MB). However, it seems that the last one (the 3.1 GHz processor) is the Brisbane model, while the other two are the Windsor model. The Brisbane is 65 nm technology, and the Windsors are 90 nm. The Brisbane models (the 3.1 GHz one) are the ones that are good for OCing however, since they run more efficiently and are a lot cooler. The L2 cache in my opinion isn't too terrible a difference either, so I'd say go with the Brisbane, since you'll be able to OC it to be faster than the Windsors, even if it's slower out of the box.

EDIT: I forgot that there was a 6400+ in the mix: I'd still say go for the Brisbane 6000+ if money's the issue, but the 6400+ will still outperform either of the 6000+, most likely. However, as Jubei said, if you have the money, get something better, since these processors are already 1-2 year old technologies.

I didn't have time to check out the links but pick the one with the highest GHz and if you end up with two with the same then pick the processor with more cache.

Well they arent all too bad but why not get a phenom x3?? they are in the same price range. They offer a third core. If you really wanna get a good cpu i reccomend the phenom II's that just got released a couple weeks ago they are beasts.

One last thing, If you plan on overclocking why not get a black edition model?

the x3 has a smaller cache but i dont know what is better the GHz or the number of cores or the cache

if anyone can find a better cpu for less then 87.99 and free shipping xP ill glad to replace the phenom 3
