It all started happening today. I'll let the picture speak for itself.

Anyone know whats going on?

I tried Verifying Game Cache but it didn't help. This has happened before, but it was a one time thing. Now it happens within minutes.

I'm fairly certain its not a hardware issue, it only happens in TF2.

EDIT: Scratch that, something similar just happened in Assassins Creed.

If this is Video Card issue, I am going to be really ticked off.

System:

Video Card: 8800 GTS 640MB
MOBO: EVGA nForce 680i
CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz
RAM: 2GB Corsair XMS

I'm going to try a couple more games tomorrow and see what happens. My next step will be updating drivers.

It might be an overheating issue. Cleaned out our computer lately?? A lot of dust can collect in the fins of heatsinks.

heres what i think.

I think your graphics card overheats. I think the constant overheating has finally damaged your card and more specifically i would guess that the problem lies in the memory on the card. porbably damaged or corrupted. get the latest drivers for directx then for your video card first. if that doesnt work see if you can test another card, doesnt have to be the same one. if its happening in more games than 1 its most likely hardware problem in this case.

oh and btw, had a similar issue with mah laptop.

Like the others said, it could be an overheating issue. Also, I've had something like this happen to me in CS:S with my GTX 285 (Which is unlikely to be from heating issues). It can be a Software problem as well caused by the drivers, or minimizing the game a lot can mess it up a bit.

If it's happening in more then 1 game it must be gpu overheating/driver issues.

I have the same problem it would do that when i was running XP but now my screen turns all snowy with Windows 7 and requires a reboot. Im running an 8600GT btw.

I have cleaned out the computer recently and the Video Card is brand new. I had to RMA my old one and have been using this one for a little over a month. I don't think it is a heat problem, my overall system temp was ~34C, CPU: 41C, GPU: 64C.

EDIT: Updated Drivers. Issue Resolved.
