Silence or not silenced

After doing some research and from past experience:

  • The M4 is more accurate unsilenced.
  • The spread and recoil are virtually the same silenced and unsilenced.
  • Point blank range, they have the exact same damage and armor penetration.
  • At distance, the silenced M4 damage decreases exponentially.
  • Through testing it was observed that the silenced M4 does 6hp less damage at 30 yards.

Personally I mostly use it unsilenced except when sneaking or trying to hide from radar, or just when I'm goofing around and switching it on and off.

I agree with Kiwi, I only really silence when close up.

Depends on how many people are alive. At the beginning i use my M4 unsilenced, but if there is 5 left then i go silenced as to not give away my position. But i never silence the USP due to the fact that it is already crappy enough and it takes forever to silence.

My exact thought and practice. And I agree with you Mutiny about the USP, I seem to get more headshots unsilenced.

I get more headshots with it unsilenced. It also has a longer range unsilenced so that helps when moving forward with it.

Depends on the map, in office I'm almost always silenced and in dust2 almost never. And add me to the list of "boomboom" USP people, it's way better than the "pewpew" version.

Boomboom > PewPew?
Agreed :)
