I rebuilt =(eGO)= Chris' computer the other day, and to save hours of downloading pain I copied his steamapps folder to my SAMBA share (running on Ubuntu), then copied it back when his computer was sane again.
However, now he's getting errors that he doesn't have permission to run TF2. That's crazy as a coconut, but sounds very Vista-y.
Anyone know how to clear permissions for steamapps? If it was Linux I'd just "chgrp -R chris ./steamapps; chown -R 755 ./steamapps" and we'd be done.
