Something very strange

This is really really weird. Whenever I'm on steam, I cannot communicate with any of my friends. I'm able to message them but I see no response. I've messaged at least 20 people to make sure that this is the case, there was no response from anyone. Any Help ASAP would be greatly appreciated.

If this is a new thing. Valve has been experiencing some issues and this may be the cause. Hope it works itself out!
