Journey was a band for pansies. Real 80s music = Van Halen.

And Thor do not forget Queen.. It's not metal but their influence is soo big still.. One of my favorite bands..

There are numbers of bands like that. I play metal and bands like ZZ Top, Skynard, Boston, the Eagles, SRV, and the like are all huge influences of mine.

Ye, i think you're right masterofpuppets. It's hard to name only one band, simply because the seventies and eighties are full of big time bands and lots of influence. I mean, look at Pink Floyd and what they did to the world. Same question can be ask about all those bands.
