Bad fps in tf2

Hi, this is Airking9
I am getting bad fps in tf2 with a palit 9600gt, it somtimes gets below 30 in big firefights.
I have all the latest drivers and windows xp updates and i can fun cod4 at an average of 85 fps on high settings and resolution can any one tell me what to do PLZ im going insane.

1st off ur not going insane, if u were 2 go insane, you would kill people around you for answers (most likely if they didnt have an answer for you), but really ur just worried that u should be getting more fps, thats all. im gonna tell you this because its posted & you didnt read the thread bout postin in the tech help area. please give us as much info bout your system as possible. if you dont know much, you can go to www.srtest.com & itll tell you for the most part the important things we need to know. you can also check http://www.yougamers.com/ & they will give you more thorough results bout your system (that is if you can read & understand how they do it). yougamers uses the 3dmark engine, so if you havent used 3dmark before, then i would def suggest you stick w/ srtest.com.
