Hey guys,

So here's the deal. My dad is considering buying me a laptop for school work and I am wondering how well it will perform in terms of PC gaming and general internet use. It's only $450 so I think it's a great deal but I'm looking for some opinions from you guys because I'm not a great computer wiz at this stuff and I need some input. It comes with Windows Vista Business and XP. I'm copying the specs right now. Advice on something better to shoot for would be nice as well as what it'll cost me to get certain stuff. If I need to dip into my savings to get a great laptop let me know. I'm quite naive about the whole laptop market and what to get. Wow that was alot of rambling so I hope you got through that. Here are the specs.

Thanks for the help!!!

hey bubba, depending on how much u have in ur savings account, id suggest you dip into it if u wanna play games on it as well as do ur schoolwork. heres a few suggestions: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2034940032%20103980226%204021&name=$500%20-%20$750
^2nd laptop down will get ya decent graphics & its from a company even i will trust. toshiba is well known for their computer products (mostly their laptops tho). for an extra $100, go for the 1 below that & ull get an ati video card + a lil bigger hd space. if i had the $$, id def go w/ the laptop w/ the ati card because thats a great value!! its impossible 2 find that @ retail stores. also, if u dont have nuff in ur savings, def tell ur dad ur willin 2 work ur butt off in chores 2 pay off the rest!! besides, ur lucky to be getting such an advanced laptop. depending on how young u r, when i was ur age, Sega Genesis was the big thing (tells ya how old I am lol).

You could also look at the Lenovo IdeaPad series, they are a bit expensive, but they are sweet, touch sensitive buttons, full keyboard, even a hear monitor on the keyboard.

i think unless you get a laptop with a video card or a sick cpu + lots of ram, i wouldn't expect to be doing much gaming on a laptop.

Thanks for the input, I'm looking into pillar's suggestion right now. I'm 16 almost 17 its just a gift from my dad.
