what do you all recommend? it's been a good 5 years since I have had to use one, so im sure the technology is a tad bit better than what i used to have, what's a decent and cheap one to get?

Logitech are very reliable but I like to buy my necessities from Razer.

Or click on Turtle Beach (one of our sponsors).

Sorry for dp.

Go to newegg or something close to it and look at headsets and the reviews for them. I personally love logitech. So I would look into logitech headsets.

SteelSeries Siberia iron.lady
SteelSeries iron.lady Siberia Full-size Headset highlights:
- Designed for gaming + MP3-players
- Extremely comfortable
- Separate microphone

(most comfortable headset i have ever put on my head, very clear mic, crisp sound, and overall feels like an orgasm for the head)

Don't get logitech, they are not sturdy, i dropped mine once and its now held together by duct tape, the headphones don't work

I use a pair of headsets called the steel series. They are like the cost effective alternative to Turtle beach with the same results. My pair cost me $50 dollars on new egg and they compare to the top of the top in turtle beach headset line.

i got one of these from "circuit city" when they were going out of buisiness

it was suppose to be around 100$ but i got it for 20$

ya i really wish my circuit city here in sherman was still closing down, and not already closed lol. but most of the stuff in our store even on sale was still more expensive than best buy and office depot. Made me realize why they were going out of business lol.
