Well, as many who play the office server know, I'm not the best player in CS:S, in fact, maybe I fall into the "noob" category. IDK what it is, I can't seem to get a kpd of .500 every round, anyhow, get a .325 KPD. And to see these guys with 20-8 records are insane, because IMO, I'll never be able to get that kind of score in my life. Point is, I need help. Bad. I've had this game since September, and I haven't gotten any better. Always being killed by those %^$^ Ak's, flanked around the corner and knifed. And to think it's funny, it's not. Man, I can get the hottest streaks, and then go 0-20. I;ve tried everything. Bursts do no good because guys get headshots on me before I even walk into their sights. I play every single day, so experience is'nt it. Aiming high only makes me miss. Anyways, back on topic here, I'd really appreaciate if someone could help me out. I heard about those lessons some guys were giving, are you all still doing that, because I terribly need some help with my game. If you all could give me a hand, just holler. Please, help a poor pepsibottle out, would ya? :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

dont over do it... stick to maybe a M4 or an AK.
Also... when you see someone at a distance dont spray the gun. Shoot 1-3 bullets at a time and you can get the chance for a headshot more.

use the tmp and charge!
ifu run straight at them firing with the tmp chances are u will get a head shot.
and the reload time on it is very short.

but remember, just play for fun.

Just relax man, if anything it sounds like you need a break from CS:S, not training.

agreed (not eveyone is great at video games theres a point where if ur having no fun u shouldn't be playing and if u suck and like it great practice can only get some people so far

Do you use headphones? Like 60% of my kills come from knowing where the enemies are by footsteps alone.

ya but if u need practice shooting and aiming i use a really good training method
1. make a game with all the bots on one side ( i recommend butting them on hard or expert so they move around)
2. go to console and type sv_cheat 1, bot-dont-shoot 1, mp_autoteambalance 0, and mp_limitteams 100.
3. Start shooting them and aim for the head
4. you improve, trust me u really do :]

One thing I can recommend is TIMING, its better to shift-walk through and sneak up on someone then it is to try and 1v1 them.

This is what I do to get higher scores. I go follow my teamates but let them go first. If they die I know not to follow anymore and stick back or go another way. I'm usually one of the last ones to die cause I just stick around, which is a good and bad thing . Well hope this helps

First of all, no you don't have a lot of experience if you just got the game in september, most of us have been playing for years, not months. And getting better will come from playing with better players and following what they do. There was a time that I was convinced that everyone on this darn game cheated. How could they always possible know where I am?? So now when I get accused of cheating I just laugh and remember back. But there are some things you can do to improve your gaming experience

*Get a good graphics card-
Your computer can have a lot to do with how well you play. if you are only getting 15-30 FPS and most everyone is getting 60+ then they will have an easier time shooting you and you will just be guessing.

*Binding keys-
Bind keys for buying weapons so at the begining of the round you can buy whatever weapons combo you like with a touch of one keystroke. This will help you be prepared to bolt out of spawn and into the best possible position. There may be a tutorial on how to do that here on these forms and you may already know how, if not i will expalin how another time. Another bind is voice_scale 0 and voice_scale 1. this will mute and unmute all with the touch of a button. I actually think this is a big one because you will start to notice a lot of sounds that will give away an enemies position such as breaking glass, moving file cabinets, picking up nades, reloading weapons. learn to use sound to help you get more kills.

*Use Headphones-
this is a must if you want to hear where the foot steps are and also be able to identify where the sound of breaking glass came from

*Use your radar-
between a good set of headphones and radar, you will know where the enemy is. Where they isn't is where they are! As a T, if all of your teamates are guarding long hall and you are in spawn, get ready most likely they will be coming to you first through paper.

*Prefire!-
when you hear those footsteps rushing into paper, come around the corner firing, you don't have to see them first before you fire! and always, always aim your crosshairs at head height as you come around the corner!!!

*take advantage of your spawn-
If you spawn on the right, go to the right, if you spawn on the left, then go to the left. In office as a CT, if you spawn closes to the dumpsters you should be prepared to flash up the stairs and wipe out 2-3 blinded t's! or as a T, if you spawn closes to the door you should be prepared to rush front stairs and pick a few of unsuspecting ct's that might not even know you are there!

*use your flahes and nades effectively-
know where your enemy is and where they will be. In office, as a T, if you rush front office, throw a flah out hte office window, if you her foot steps underneath in the tunnels the throw a grenade out the window into the snowman area and you will really wound the ct and he will be easier to shoot.

ok enough for one night, remember you asked!

wize old man

use youre radar

no lie, i went on average from like 1.0 kpd to 1.2 kpd just because i learned to use my radar effectively

edit: LOL death bringer, i think thats called baiting...dont encourage that

you could start easy, begin camping a bit to get you're aim up, but don't forget to keep moving it's not that good to camp the same spot.

old man pretty much sums it up, and oh don't go for those spray patterns people put up, a good aim beats the crap out of any spray pattern i've seen so far.
tho i think you can get really good guides on those sites they posted

Thanx 4 the help. I'll try some of this stuff, most of which I already do, but thx foor the suggestions.

pepsi i have seen you around i think the one thing you should remember when you are playing is patience. you cant just charge out at someone and expect to hit them you have to make sure your crosshair is the proper height when coming around corners so that if you do run into an opposing player the second you shoot it should be at their head. secondly try not to be cavalier figure out where the ct's or t's throw nades and stay away from there for a bit until they have thrown some lastly remember tactics use corners and boxes to your advantage!
