What is your favorite INS weapon, and why?

The shotgun is highly unrealistic in terms of distance. There is no way in heck that you should be able to effectively snipe someone with a shotgun from over 100 yards.

oh ya, and with the shotgun you don't have to aim it that well. just leave it on your hip and you'll get em while they're trying to aim

My favorite weapon is the Beretta (USMC pistol). It has a decent clip size of 15, it can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger (pretty fast when you shoot with the mouse wheel ;) ) and can kill in 1-2 hits. Another plus is that the iron sights are great for aiming and the gun does not take up a ton of room, blocking your vision. You can use it at close and medium range, but on a level like Office, its amazing.

I hate it when you guys run at me with your pistols, i almost shead a tear whenever i have to gun you down on the spot:)

The Flamethrower

Not only has this weapon never had a significant role in any war, but the though of Captain Wes with a Flamethrower is not really that intimidating:D. I think Captain Wes would look cute and harmless with a weapon such as that.

Not true, a decent shotgun with a modified choke(a la M4) using 02 Buck(15 pellets) can hit 1-2 foot groups at 100 yards and still have more than enough energy to take out a soft target. Point blank, 02 Buck or a dart round will completely shatter Level 3 ceramic body armor... 30,000 J FTW!

Anyway, my weapons are the M4 ironsight, and the AKS-74u. My only wish is that they would add full sized AK-74s to the game and swap out the RPD for the PKM. 100 rounds of 7.62x54 INSTANT DEATH!

If they were to swap out the RPK for a PKM, they'd have to include a M240G for the Marine component. The 7.62x54R and 7.62x51mm NATO are hi-power .30 cal rounds. The 5.56x45mm and 7.62.39mm are far less powerful, ballistically speaking.

The thing that bothers me about the shottie is that the weapon sound seems a little incongruent with an actual scatter cannon. And regarding the ammo loads for the shotguns, standard combat loads are 00 Buckshot, they do make 000 or 0000 though. With a super full choke, you could reach out to 100 yds.

All that said, I would say my favorite is the M25 Sniper Weapon System. Precision, semi-auto .308, what more could you ask for?

Terminally speaking, at ranges of less that 150m, a 5.56 fired from an M249 is more effective than a .308 Nato. Fragmentation FTW. Besides, what the M249 would lack in stopping power(which wouldn't be much) it would easily make up for in firing rate and ammo capacity. IMO, I would rather take an M249 into combat than an M240.

M249>M240: Higher ammo cap and firing rate, lower recoil, lighter weight, the ability to take STANAGs in pinch; what's not to love about it?

The only reason that the military, not including the coast guard, uses shotguns are for breaching doors and locks as well as policing action (ala the worthless MP's) The rounds used by the united states military are no different than something you could go to your local weapons dealer and buy. Of course, we have non-lethal and less than lethal rounds as well. A 12 guage shotgun or even a 20 guage full choke still isnt going to kill a person 1 or even 2 shots from over 100 yards. Sure, it will hurt like heck but its not going to be an ultimate life ender like a sniper rifle like the game tries to represent.

I know it hurts Herm, i know :), point blank shotgun trauma is fatal.

Hey,

My favourite is the M16/M203 (with the grenade launcher)!

I love it very much in every single map. The RPG is the best for Insurgents and ins_karkar.

What do you think?
