Here's my question can i buy windows and also buy a new hard drive and install the hard drive with my old hard drive Still connected? Both IDE's

one that has XP on it and one with nothing on it and will it show up like in my

computer as well, and can i install windows from xp, on to the new hard drive.

Because i can't not go into Bios anymore, or safemode.

since the PS/2 is burnt out.

I know i can buy a copy of windows and put it on the hard drive i already have but there isn't alot of space on my E there's 35G

i have a older computer everything works on and it has a IDE hard

drive so will i have to put my new hard drive in there and install windows on it then bring the

hard drive Back to mine?

Thanks for any info you may have.

if i got your question right, the basic issue is if you need to install windows on both drives?:p the answer to that would be no, you can just attach the hard drive and windows should recognise it!!

Thank you that's what i wanted to know and sorry if i made some of you think there, it was very late and i was trying to think.

Yeah, just attach the new drive (detach old) and setup windows on it... Then re-attach old, set as master, set new hd as slave and that should do it

y would you not be able to do this?

you have windows XP installed on both drives. You should be able to select the HDD you want to boot off of via boot manager screen or via the BIOS. and if you cant get into your BIOS anymore something is wrong with your BIOS chip. try clearing the CMOS if you cant get into BIOS.
