Final Fantasy!

I think tactics is the only game ive actually played through more than twice. The first time i beat it for the story then the second time to get all the charactors(Cloud FTW) . Then the next two times just because i loved the game so much.
I played it for gameboy and quit shortly after i started. I got into a fight where you couldnt use the regular attack. I got mad and quit and never played it again.

i think i have beaten 7 twice
9, 3 times
10, 3 times
tactics once...
and have not beaten 1-6 to be honest (WoW got in the way too much)

I only beat FF7 once, but I spent over 150 hours on the first disc LOL.

one of my friends stayed in the first area (midgar) until lvl 67 or something like that.... he just stayed there and played for like 7 hours a day and ended up leaving to 1 shot bosses later on.

Wow, that is dedication.

I've beaten them all a couple times a piece, except for X-2... just got bored out of my mind. What I haven't done, and need to do, is go back and beat the Emerald Weapon from VII - gotta finish another run through 9 first though.

I have 9, 10, 11, and sadly X-2.

9 is my favorite. Loved the musical score for it.

I have fond, fond memories of FF7. I spent a fortnight housesitting for my parents at the same time I got FF7.

I hardly slept or ate at all and just played FF7 and slept on a duvet in front of the PS1 the whole time. It was fantastic. Has to be one of the greatest games ever created.

It is interesting there are some people who don't think 9 was good. I always felt it was almost as good as 7.

Personally, I love 8. 7 is cool, and definitely changed how RPG's were looked at, but the story line for 8 is fantastic, and the character development is amazing - right along with the story line... even if time warping stuff makes my head hurt.

9 was truly, terribly, terrible. Let me list the problems.

1. The main character is a half monkey
2. The main villain, although this is the *style*, you really couldnt tell what gender *it* was
3. The artistic style went from FF8 realism to an attempt at 3d 2d characters.
4. The main selling point on this game was "The crystals are back in style!" yet the only crystal in the damn game is at the end. (FYI, Crystals harken back to the first FF's, hence the art style attempt)
5. The story was terrible and quickly forgettable. Personally, I only remember 2 parts of the story and thats it.
6. TRANCE system? Are you serious? WTF? (See FFX as to how much of a failure it was to Square. Notice how Limits called Overdrive are back?)
7. The characters are very, very stale to the point where personally, I found not a single one appealing.

I could go on, but unfortunately I've stricken most of the rest from my brain through a chemical wash. Uhg.. almost like when I plays Breath of Fire 4 after playing the far superior BOF3...

Kayteen charges ragepost.

Ragepost takes time to recover.

now that we have had a good argument on which is the best... lets talk hard bosses.
Definatly the Weapons in 7 (Ruby. Emerald) WITH OUT THE CHEATS. Yes i know the tricks, Knghts + counter attack... non of that crap. Im talking the full 30 minute fight. The one that sucks your will to live.

emmm Pandemonium Warden from Final Fantasy 11,me and my group tried it and we got toally wiped out, the closest anyone in the game ever got to beating him was a linkshell who got wiped after 18hours of fighting (they where killed it his 20th form or something like that)
