What is your favorite war movie?

[bottleoftheFUNK]

Hey i was thinking about the last time i saw "The Three Kings", which is a Gulf War movie. I also enjoyed watching "Saving Private Ryan", "Enemy at the Gate", and "Band of Bothers"(which is more of a series).

My favorite documentary is "Fire Base Cobra" which is an administrative support base(or something like that) in Afganistan. It takes place during the Iraq War to present, it was on the National Geographic Channel.

So what about everyone else in the community?

Generation Kill (HBO series) is interesting particularly if you're an Insurgency player. Lots of similarities as far as equipment and uniforms and other props, except that the language is the opposite of what we allow on the servers. It's weird seeing how open they seem to be in the show compared to in the game. In Insurgency, if they can see one pixel of you, you're dead within 2 seconds, no matter what weapon they have.

Platoon, Hamburger Hill, Black Hawk Down, Full Metal Jacket

Every one he said but add We Were Soldiers. Its a movie about De Nang Valley in Vietname and Garry Owen 1-7 Cav, same unit I did a stint in Iraq with. Great history, great story, and its all true.

[PDX_Capy]

Full metal jacket. Are there others?

[GoldenPSP]

"How can you kill women and children?"
"Easy, just don't lead them as much"

All the standards are great. Full Metal Jacket, Black Hawk Down, Hamburger Hill. Surprisingly I wasn't a huge fan of Saving Private Ryan.

One that I saw recently that I enjoyed was a small movie called "Saints and Soldiers" I caught it on Hulu.com.

[First Timer]

Black Hawk Down and We Were Soldiers if it isn't obvious enough
