my dad has a AMD 4400+ Dual core And i've got a Single core 3200+

They are going to be same mobo just not same CPU so will it run nice?

Same cards too.

Both of them are 939 socket. AMD 3200+ and the 4400+

A lot better than you can now. But not tremendous performance or anything, at least not on your end. Source is heavily CPU-based so while the graphics card certainly helps, it won't get you the same buff a new CPU will. His will perform a lot better because not only is it faster, but it is dual-core, which L4D takes advantage of. (Not many games do)

Well, it won't run "well" (read: maxed), but the Source engine is great. It can run decently on low-spec machines, so you probably won't have any problems running medium/low on a lower resolution.

Thanks guys that's what i wanted to hear :D

also i found out i can buy the same cpu on ebay so can i do that and put it in with old fan from the 3200+?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2.2 GHz Dual Core SOCKET 939

i might go ahead and buy it if i don't like my 3200+ once it's in the new system.

Depends. If it's not a stock fan, check their website. If it is, it's possible, but probably not. A decent CPU hsf isn't more than $50 though.
