I dunno about anyone else, but do you feel like pulling your hair out/tossing your monitor through the window/punch babies/etc when your playing as the Axis on Strand and the Allies camp right outside the Axis spawn areas?! Even with just 1 bomb left to blow, they just sit there and blow the german brains out as soon as they come back to life.

Now that i'm done venting for right now, i think i'll go play some Strand :D

We call it spawn control. The truth is that you can get to almost any point underground as axis. And if you cannot clear the spawn exit then you need to practice more.

But if they kill you in spawn before you move or exit, that is spawn camping.

I dunno, I play Strand aka Charlie every once in awhile. It's by no means my favorite map. I find it JUST as frustrating as an Allied player to get less than 2 feet out of the Higgins boat spawn point on the beach to get nailed in the head by sniper and MG fire. At least when an allied player is covering the axis spawn, he had to WORK to get there and risks retaliatory fire. Can't say the risk is the same really for the Axis players covering the beach.

To me, that whole map is one big "spawn camping" exercise LOL.

I've just recently developed a liking to that map.

My only thing is its supposed to be a challenge for the Allies to get off the beach. It's always supposed to be harder for the Assaulting force. I'm just saying the Allies would probably win more on Strand if the whole team went for the objectives instead of half the team "spawn controlling" Still makes for interesting rounds

i only play on the donner server :) but yes i have try it before but thats the game and remember is just a game have fun.:)

The axis get it super easy in the beginning which makes it fair when the allies get an advantage later on. The allies do get to slaughter the axis when there is only a few bombings left so they still get to enjoy the mass killing. It is basically a way to balance the scores of the players a little. Even still the allies top killers usually have like 15 kills but axis range from 20-40 even 50 sometimes.

I play strand alot, and I rarely have this problem. There are a few Axis spawn points where you are "dealt with" sort to say where you can not get out of spawn without being shot. But thats the spirit of Strand, once the Axis get over run its the Allies turn to control the axis spawn points. Do your best to get out of your spawn and deal with the Allies, and after you deal with them run to other Axis spawn points and flank the unexpecting Allies. Usualy the same people camp outside of the Axis spawns, so their actions are predictable, so you can look for them more often. When I leave spawn I always duck outside then back in, look for enemy tracers, shadows etc. A well timed nade will always deal with your problem. Hope this advice helps :)

Like Booth said aslong as your not getting killed inside the spawn but outside its not spawn camping.

i think it sucks when the axis have mg's and snipers everywhere overlooking the beach and it takes days for the allies to get out of there

It's been more then a couple months since I've played strand but I don't think there's any place the allies can spawn kill axis? If they wait outside the spawn doors for you ... then you should be ready to shoot when you walk outside ...

I tend to avoid Strand simply because I tend to like some sort of balance to a map..but...lol anymore...haha

Well Axis Spawn camping is not allowed (Inside the axis spawn) but is very possible. Axis spawn point thats behind the far left Bunker (Axis view looking out to beach) No door, just a ramp over a few wooden boxes but the Allies can still see inside of spawn. You can set a mg up right there and shoot into the spawn.

Soooo, basicely your saying. Allies shouldn't be able to but the Germans can? It might be annoying (I know what spawns you are thinking of.) But it should remain unless its physically killing people inside the spawn room, its away of controlling people from getting to the final bomb point. My personal opinion on it is, it should be allowed as the other team can do it, with ease. It actually shows a bit of skill to get off the beach and into the German base to set up shop with usually one of the Germans MG's.

This discussion is entirely okay, but the fact is that spawn camping is allowed on this map for eGO. You may ask slayr357 or any of the other Council members. This issue has come up again and again, yet the same conclusion is made. Spawn camping on Charlie aka Strand is perfectly legal. Why you might ask? Well it just comes down to the fact that the Wehrmacht can spawn camp on the Allies the entire game, so it should be permissible for the Allies to return the favor. If it was a real beach landing, the exact situation would arise. This is just to make the gameplay "fair." Besides, it's not like you can't kill the Allied campers. Usually, they continue to camp the spot. Then you simply respawn in another spawn and go take the player out to save further frustration of you and your teammates. So, whether you like it or not, Strand aka Charlie will continue to be a spawn camping/killing permissible map. You will all be forced to get used to it or not. It's either that or play on our other servers where it is not. Sorry :(

It's allowed. If someone's sitting outside the door you just have to find a different route, and if that's not possible, try nading them. They won't last forever.

your spawn killing the allies

its all part of the game ..........................................................................................Patience is a virture, crouching in the field.
Staring down iron sights, left eye is sealed.

Paciently waiting still crouching in the grass.
Up pops a head, A traget at last!

my breathing stops, my heartrate is light
anticipating the allies crossing my sight.

he runs up to the mortar, he wont come straight in.
I watch from the barbwire hiding my grin.

Then down he runs, thinking it clear.
I squeeze the trigger, my round thumps his ear.

The bunker now red, his body slides away.
Ive done my job, I keep them at bay.

Its always overcast, allies in the sand.
Its the endless battle of charlie, a.k.a strand.

I play Strand almost exclusively. Shooting outside Axis spawn exits is fine. Equal to pwning the beach on the Allies. The only issue is getting shot inside the spawn, as stated before, in the left bunker. I actually like the challenge and will always attempt to flank the campers to clear the spawn.

You're not playing well enough. You camp Allies spawn literally all the game, do you not think this would be frustrating for them? There are multiple spawn exits that the Axis can use and if you keep running out of the same spawn door into an mg or support that you knew was there then you're just being 100% noob. The allies are already at a disadvantage during the game and need to find some way of tipping the balance in their favour. A bit of spawn exit camping is fine by me. I much prefer playing as Allies anyway, far more challenging and a lot more rewarding when you win.
