Gettin DOD:S, few q's though

Well, after being stuck with only CS:S, I'm getting DOD:S. Really happy, always wanted it. Anyways, being a newb, I got a few q's. System req's seem a bit steeper, how would you think my 2.8ghz P4 with 8800gt and 2GB PC3200 RAM run? 1600x maybe? Also, any differences between the 2? Tips, basic stuff. Hoping to play on the EGO servers, of course :D Really exited 4 this 1.
 
DoDs runs the newer orange box engine, like TF2. It does take more power than CSS, as my fps will tell you.

CSS:75-150
DoDs: 35-60

All highest settings.

Your computer should be able to run it pretty well.
 
it should run very well on your comp. the differences are the weapons act different and you have to capture areas and there are respawns. i hope to see you in my favorite map flash.
 
(Recap): Have a video card. Without one, the game is no fun. If you have one, great! If you don't, I would suggest Direct X 9 or 10.

it will run fine!! Just be aware that CSS, DoDs are way diffrent in health!!! DoD is really realistic! A Ton of recoil, Alot of guns are one shot death, or one shot critical damage!! IF you are barely playing DoD.. Dont be surprised if your Death ratio, is higher that your kill ration!! I will take you a while for K/D to be even and little while longer for you to start surpassing your deaths!
 
Hey pepsi, welcome to dod bro, im sure you will like it very much.

You PC should be able to run it smoothly, I have the 8600GT and my game runs pretty good.
 
To add to what everyone else says, the Main problems most CSs players have is the difference in shot delay. Once you get that down, you will do fine. The guns shoot differently so that is the main hangup most leet CSs players have with DODs. Please don't get discouraged until you get to know the guns. Then you will a blast. We have a great bunch of guys in DODs as well as the cross CSS players that play here. Hope you enjoy our servers and REPRESENT 8D
 
thats just under what my specs are and i dont lag nor anything bad happen just shoot and be happy.

To me the real difference is we have more fun than cc's players so enjoy and see you in the Kalt sewer's

Seems more realistic? Sweet. That's why I fail in CS:S, play as I would in COD:4. Dl'ing nowz, cant wait to see ya'll on the servers. Thanx guys

hahaha!! Nice i had a feeling you where going to do good! since you already play a shooting game! First online shooting game i played was DoDS, so i was not that good! now im preety good! kinda lol...
 
Welcome to DoD, always glad to see more people. You seem to know whats up with this game already so ill just say to stop by avalance some time. See you in game.
 
i played cs for 3 years before playing DOD. its just as awesome if you like world war I games. the guns and maps are the biggest differences. No boxes to hid behind, now you have buildings and trees. but i love DOD more than CS. i hope you try Flash, i believe its the funnest map, but try them all. hope to see you in the servers
 
Nice work in kalt man. :)

Try out 24/7 flash sometime... its pretty fun. (My favorite server)
 
What weapon do you like to use....eg Machine Gun, Sniper weapon...shovel?? ;)

If you like sniping come see me Pepsi....as in game I pwned BL4SPH3MY and Duality so I know what I am talking about

WAIT sorry that was in my dream last night, never mind what I said. I do however know how to pour a mean class of water (call me Waterboy)

So if you really need help with sniping then talk to those two guys and I am sure we have others that can help in that dept. ( I do have some tips for you if you like)
