SOTW Contest?

I belong to another forum that does this, its called SOTW, Signature of the week. Basically, anyone can enter. there is a topic given every week and a contestant has 5 days to create a signature with the given topic. The winner will be plastered on a thread that will display the past winners. With enough interest, we could keep this up. Since im hosting these things, i have decided not to enter them.

a winner is chosen by the public. After the deadline, the works will be placed in a thread with a poll which anyone can vote in. There wouldnt be a prize, i have casino cash, but not alot. i could try to fit in more prizes, but i cant promise anything.

I won alot of SOTW's on other forums :) Great Idea Beta :D But we have to keep this well organized. And maybe not a SOTW but a SOTM (Sig Of The Month)
 
Cool idea.
@JV's idea: I think we should do a SOTW and SOTM in one thread! You could do a sig of the week for each week and then out of those pick a sig on that month.

Gives people more time, and also makes it so their aren't 1000 threads in the art work forum about the contest :)

Well, yeah. Make a sticky for each sotw and all sigs are posted and that thread, then create a new thread with the Voting. So, 2 threads per SOTW/M. I've ran some SOTW's that why :)
 
Let's get it going! I'm uber excited to do this!

But I don't like the idea of SOTM. Maybe there can be a limit of entries? A month seems like a bit too long.
 
I just wanted to ask, what other forum did you get this idea from? It was helpwithphotoshop.co.uk was it?

A sotw or sotm exitsts on waay more forums then only helpwithphotoshup.co.uk ;)
 
Or we could just do a sig of the week and delete the thread every 3 weeks.
That way there are only a few....
Or maybe we can get a sub forum just for SOTW.
 
That sounds like alot of fun i have entered SOTW many times and its always cool to see others "competition quality work"
 
Alright, Since were still early in the month, we can start now. The topic will be.. No. Since this is the beginning of the contest, the first contest will be Open to any submission.
 
I agree with TomSound, we can just clear it out after a few. Once a month is just too far apart. It takes most of us about 10 minutes to a few hours to make a sig. I think it will be more fun weekly.

Also, after we do it, can we give it to someone?

I think maybe a guideline.. so we can compare apples to apples..

Like how about the first one be about St. Patricks Day.
 
Well imo a SOTW is :

An (SOTW) admin creates a new thread to start a new SOTW, he explains the style, theme, render. Like you say create and anime based sig with the following render... Or you can just let them 'freestyle' Then all submissions will be posted in that same thread. One submission per user. When the SOTW is at it's end an admin creates a new thread for voting. adds all the submissions and add a poll to it.
