Note: As this was made back in 2009, I can't guarantee that this still works.

This is just a tutorial for people that don't know how to make a spray or forgot how to.

Animated & Non-Animated Spray Creation

1. Find the pictures that you want to have in you spray
2. Download and Install VTFEdit (Download)
3. Open up a image editor (Photoshop, Gimp, Paint.Net, etc)
4. Create a new canvas with the dimensions 128 px x 128 px or 256 x 256
5. Make the background completely transparent
6. Position your image in the box that you made, then save. (Do Not Resise)

7. Animated: Repeat steps 4-6 until happy with animation (each picture is 1 frame or one picture of the animation)
Non-Animated: Go to the next step. More pictures are only needed if the spray is animated.

8. Open VTFEdit
9. See Below for VTFEdit instructions. Select the one corresponding to your spray type

VTFEdit Instructions Non-Animated
1. Click File>Import the file that you want your spray to be

3. There now should be two files on your desktop (1 .vtf 1 .vmt)
4. Open the .vtf file
5. Check to see if there is more then 1 copy of your picture
6. Open the .vmt file
7. If there was 4 copies of you picture (if there isn't skip this step) copy the following code (replacing the old code)
