Favorite Stephen King Movies

Absolutely no movie can ever hold a candle to the Shawshank Redemption, sorry, but that movie would be in my "few movies I've watch more than twenty times" list if I ever cared to make one. Though what was posted above about the Dark Tower series, I loved the book series. :)

And anyone who said the Dreamcatcher, having read the book ahead of time, please reconsider. That movie is one of the worst adaptations of all time. Stuff is made up and thrown in there, the ending has NOTHING to do with the book, it's horrible.
 
My favorite hands down is The Stand. I like the book better though, I read all 1000+ pages and it's better than the movie. IT was also a good book, but horrible movie.
 
I've read ALOT of stephen king, and watched most of the movies they were made into.. and most are ok. some are pretty good.
However the best imo is:
Sleepwalkers....
its just so funny
 
i honestly had no idea stephen king was a writer for shawshank redemption. that movie is just fantastic to say the least, and probably the best hes worked on

yeah he mostly comes to mind for his horror novels but The Green Mile and Stand by Me were pretty good non-horror imo, I also liked the dead zone and the series as well for the time it lasted.

i read the dead zone... and the tv series wasn't to bad at following its "purpose" though couldn't follow the full story line of coarse... lol woulda been too short. And green mile and stand by me were both really good films as well.
I almost put Stand By Me as the my favorite....
but sleepwalkers is still it for me. i've watched it probably a million times.. makes me laugh lol
