Ok, so I've had this problem for a while, but never really addressed it.
I run Vista Ultimate, I have two soundcards, a sb live 24 bit and a tb riviera. The audio works fine but the mic has some problems.
If I try to use teamspeak or ventrilo, or ingame chat, it works for like 30 seconds, then stops working and lags the crap out of whatever application is using it. It won't work on the sb period for some reason, only on the tb.
Anyone have any ideas?

Is your mic usb? Which card is controlling it? have you tried taking one of the cards out (or deactivating it)?

Nah its not usb, and yeah ive tried pretty much all that
i think its mostly because the sound drivers for vista blow

i use Vista with a mic, works like a charm, i even dictated a 2-page long article to Word the other day. Sounds more like a conflicting sound driver issue to me, try uninstalling both drivers and reinstalling only one!

Make sure you have UAC activated or run as administrator (or is it deactivated?) lol
I know this was what caused the problem of not being able to talk ingame. Dono about the lag problem though.

come to think of it, i had disabled my UAC before i used my mic, so singularity could have a point there!! Dunno why UAC would be a problem with mics, but then again, I'd expect anything from Vista ;p
