Hey guys,

My PC is kinda old- it's 4 years old, 512mb RAM, 3.00ghz Intel Pentium 4, nVidia GeForce 5200 at 128mb.

Anyways, I want to get a new one, but I want some experts to tell me if this PC plays any latest game or coming up game this year and next year at least- at its best and BEST quality and super fast!

http://cgi.ebay.ca/INTEL-QUAD-CORE-...goryZ179QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

So please tell me if this PC plays a future game (like CoD modern warfare 2) at its best graphics and details and best performance.

Thanks.

Well he's received decent feedback...but the specs listed down below in 'Description' are a bit...incorrect

Processor Speed: 9.6Ghz. I wish.

You might want to replace that graphics card and PSU when you get the system. You wont be able to play any 'future game at 'best graphics, detail, performance' with a 9400GT. That Okia PSU is a ticking time-bomb. First thing i'd switch out, then a new graphics card.

Here's a HD4830 for $90: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127420

And for another $50, this SilverStone ST400: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256032

You'll also need an OS: Vista Home Premium x64 OEM ($100) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116488

I wouldn't buy any computer stuff from ebay. Something about it just screams NO! to me.
But, its your money, you decide if this is what you want to do.

I priced a q6600, 8gb ram, 500gb hdd, dvd burner, nvidia 9800GT, 750watt psu, decent case, intel MB for $775

Of course the price could change by changing the psu to a lower wattage or the gpu to a cheaper model or even lowering the ram to 4gb.

This is a pretty decent gaming pc that can prob run any games on really good settings.

Overall, if you buy that pc on ebay and do the psu and graphics card upgrade, it will cost just as much as this pc, if not more.

yer , the fact it has wrong specs kinda makes me leary , but do what u want , id rather go tigerdirect and get a bareboneskit myself

Why not check out ibuypower? It looks like you could get a custom configured pc from there for a good price. That pc you picked out on ebay looks kinda sketchy. I wouldnt reccomend buying one from there. Check out our sponsors. They all offer great pc's!

Umm... no. I wouldn't trust anyone to build my computer who can't take the time to spell "Quad" correctly in his ebay posting. Also, it would seem that he is sourcing cheap parts for very "budget" builds. You could build that computer yourself for less money, or have a better PC built by a trusted source (ibuypower, cyberpower, uberclock, etc...) for the same $$$$. I wouldn't trust that PC at all.
Also note that it doesn't come with an operating system, and that that costs extra. So you would be buying a box with parts assembled, but that is the easy part of building a computer. The difficult part, installing the OS and all the drivers, would be left to you.
To sum up, pass on that one. It looks like it could be a nightmare.
ETA: 9.6Ghz? Did he really put that in his description? He must OC using liquid nitrogen with an ambient temp around -250 or so... maybe he builds his systems on Pluto?

well the Q6600 is an excellent cpu. I would buy a third party cooler if you decide to get this machine, and overclock that thing to at least 2.8 or 3.0 gHz

ok here is the conclusion i have come up with dealing with the 9.6GHz

He thinking that when you have a quad core all the cores are running at the 2.6GHz or whatever, that you can multiply it together and thats your speed. So after seeing that, i have come to 2 conclusions.

1) he cant multiply correctly

2) he has no clue what he is doing with a computer

So after following up with those conclusions, i made the final conclusion that this guy has no clue with what he is doing, and i would not buy from him.

I wouldnt get anything from ebay that deals with computers.
either you build it yourself from newegg parts (and end up costing wayyyy less then buying it)
or you should go to ibuypower and build an aweomse computer and help eGO :]

Alright guys, thanks.

Anyways, I told my brother to buy one next year by building it by himself or customize one from internet site from ibuypower or something, NO eBay!

By the way, he says 9.6 GHz because it's a 65 nm processor.

P.S. QAUD (ROFL)

this ebay listing is great. QUAD CORE 8MB RAM under $600!!!!!!!! The only catches are:

terrible power supply
way too much no-name memory
awful graphics card choice
no-name hard drive

Processor Type:
INTEL Q6600 QUAD CORE (2.4GHzX4)

4*2.4GHz = 9.6GHz

oh dang, i was tired.... i did the wrong multiplying, or i just had my own little case of dyslexia and read it wrong. idk
