There's some sort of program you can use so it doesn't show your real ping, some people use it so they don't kick you for high ping.

I get 13-15 on LAN.

This guy must have way high speed internet plus be near the servers. I see maybe one person a day who has a less than 10 ping

My record is 3,000 during lag when family is using wifi
My record for semi-functionality is bout 900 ping, I get horrible frame rate but server doesn't kick me or I don't get disconnected- and I can hear people on mic fine though! hehe
(I'm normally at 60-100 something phew)

Im pretty sure its just a ping mask, a ton of people do it on CSS. If I remember right you just set your cl_cmdrate to 0 and it drops to 5, dosen't actually means he has 5 ping. Good for not getting auto kicked out of servers with ping limits.

The servers are in Dallas correct? I'm semi-near there and usually have pings around 10, but often as low as 5. No mods or anything either

I don't know why you all dismiss this a a ping mask. Some people really do have that good of an internet connection. I mean you never know, he could be playing on his work's high speed internet connection, some of those are unbelievable.

im in sherman tx, and just have cable internet, and with the servers being in dallas, and my wifi connection on my laptop, i get 5-10 ping on alot of the css servers, while my fiance is on the desktop in the other room with a 15-20 ping. it's all in your network card, network, and proximity of the servers. i get a solid 5 ping most times on the highschool server in CSS. so it is very possible even in the tf area

It doesn't have to be a ping mask, you just have to be neighbours with the server .

I usually go around 70-80. 5 is almost impossible.

If it stays at 5 with no fluctuation, it's probably ping mask. If it fluctuates, then damn, I gotta get me some of them there fiber optic interwebs.

That'd be sweet, although I doubt it's much of an advantage over anything below 100 or so (unless the person has amazing reflexes).

My framerate rarely drops below 100 now. Used to have 90-100, but since we've upgraded our internet, around 125 ping. We got a better connection (5mbits instead of 2) but the ping's higher.

my ping's always around 100, sometimes better sometimes worse. I remember mine suddenly went to 500 once when my bother was home downloading films to watch.

Yeah, when I'd play with stock TF2 settings before the semester started and everyone started clogging the internet at my dorm up I'd register in server as 5 ping, from Indiana. However, my netgraph said that I had ~30 ping.

Once I played in a LAN party over a newly installed 1 room corporate gigabit switch. Round-trip times to any another computer in the room was about 6ms. Which I thought was kinda funny because the monitors we were using had a 12ms response time.
