I figure it's not there because anyone who knows how to build a solid-state tesla coil already knows they shouldn't be doing this...

That's actually not CGI. They use soild-state electronics to vary the voltage and cycles-per-second (hertz) in order to create varying sound frequencies. They then use a computer to control the tesla coil, and play a MIDI song, which signals when to fire.

Chainmail armor will protect you. Electricity takes the path of least resistance. If you're wearing a chainmail suit, the electricity is going to flow through the chainmail to ground, rather than travel through the higher-resistance human body.
And no, it won't burn you. The arc doesn't stay in one place long enough to create heat. Besides, the creation of heat is a byproduct of resistance. For instance, have you ever vacuumed a room and then noticed that the extension cord was hot? Care to guess why that is? Next time, try replacing the extension cord with a 10-3 or 8-3 wire from Home Depot. Doesn't get hot, does it?
If the arc did stay in one place long enough, it likely would get hot enough (in that one spot) to burn you.

no...the TESLA COIL is making the music! The computer is simply controlling when the coil fires, how much voltage is used, and how many CPS.

...So where was the computer making that noise? The sound didn't change because the voltage and amperage was constant.

I haven't seen any of thease guys videos before but I can tell you right here right now that'd look up for some more. At first that sounded like fake buuuuuut I think that was real. Either way just epic, I love that part in the movies
