Another "Check my PC parts" thread

most things are slightly more, but being able to get stuff "right now" is so nice. I watch their deals with newegg and tigerdirect.
 
I have an external USB Lite-On, sounded like a dying car at first but now it's quieter (setting it on a couch arm instead of a desk silences it too), so I've experienced the Lite-On noise. It's fine, it doesn't give me a headache or anything... and I've heard it a lot, I've used it on USB 1.1 ports which make things take forever.

Alright, hopefully I can make it to Micro Center, haven't asked yet (we'll be going that direction next weekend, so I may get there then).

Never actually put a PC together, but I have played around inside them and handled most of the parts. Main worries are the motherboard and heatsink, they sound a little tricky and I've never done them before (other than on old heatsink which I think is different), but we'll see when I have them.

Ordered the stuff (I decided on AMD after all, because I learned something I didn't know: Micro Center is like 5 or 10 miles from where my dad works :O so I just did store pickup for the CPU, PSU, and HDD since they're probably easier to return being more fragile although I haven't looked into it, and I hope I don't need to.)
 
Bump, everything I was waiting for came today. I have literally all day tomorrow, so I'm just gonna play with the case a little tonight and get some sleep. I'll keep you guys posted with any questions.
 
I remembered :thumbup: I'm on it now (using my laptop's shared wi-fi connection until I determine how I should run the cable). I know it's not the best test ever, but Windows 7 gives it a 5.9 as the lowest (in Aero performance), which is pretty good considering the price. Also, even though it's not the lowest common denominator, I'll start taking advantage of my Black Edition processor a bit once my extra fans come in :D I think I'll just go to 3 GHz, which should be no problem at all and a nice milestone :)

SO MUCH FUN! I'm installing all my Steam games as I type, so i should make the CS:S vs. INS skirmish tomorrow.

Very much so :) but it's taking forever to download all my Steam games. I really should have used my Orange Box DVD :P
