Alright i need some serious help. It seems like every time i play CSS i get even worse. I've been struggling with where the hell the hit boxes are because nothing i do seems to register at all. i'll see blood, but theres no damage because i guess i didn't hit the hit box, just the model...
My rates are set great theres no problem there. But where do i aim? Do i aim where i see the model? (that doesn't seem to be working well). Do i am where the model just was? (aiming behind him kinda, in spec i've seen many kills this way). Or do i predominately aim where the model will be (aim just before where they are headed, anticipating where they will go).
Maybe i've been over thinking things, but i used to be pretty good at this game when i played it, and i used to dominate with the scout. But ever since i start playing again i just can't get used to things

lol what?? of course i know to aim for the head. and i do. actually by my reports i've noticed that my hits and reflexes are tending towards the body, just so that i know to get a hit, so i've been over exaggerating my aim as high so that when it happens, it'll be heads-o-flying.

i have crosshairs small, maybe you guys should read the question again...or maybe i should repeat myself.
where are the hit boxes, do you aim where they are, where they are going, where they have been

We don't mean small crosshair. We mean type cl_crosshairscale 2000 in console.

And the hitboxes are right where the players are, or a tiny bit behind them.

as i said, i have the crosshairs small...i switch between 2000-5000. im not new to the game or anything, i just can't re-adjust to it.

Here, if they're moving, aim for where they've just been, their hitbox kind of tags along behind the person. Does that help at all?
