Router Trouble

OKay im having a little problem with my router. My computer is not getting any Internet Activity at all. My computer is directly link to the router via Wired. I know my internet is working fine because im on my other computer via Wireless and its running perfect. I'm using a Belkin N wireless router and on its display it shows that the Wireless and Wired modes are detected. But when i try to access the internet with my Computer (Wired) the Wired Detection light turns off and i cannot get on the Web. Im guessing something is blown out in the router or maybe my eternet adapter is messed up. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem.
 
Hmm, Have you modified the settings at all? Does your computer have more than one connection set-up? Disable the ones that your not using.
 
nope i havent modified any settings. Just turned it on this morning to find out its not working. Im going to try and reset my router and start from the begginning.
 
Most likely your IP address has expired or is not being automatically assigned properly. Check your IP settings in the router.
 
I've got a Belkin N router and I've had problems from time to time. First try your Belkin utilities on your comp - edit and make sure your settings are correct and save. If that doesn't work, try going into the router address itself from your comp to play with the settings. You may have to re-set your connection settings and re-send the info to your internet provider via the router.
 
i'm guessing that DHCP and other TCP/IP settings are not to blame for this, cause your Wired light goes out when you connect, so it should be a router problem.. my nearest guess is that your router can't handle both wired and wireless connections simultaneously, though i have no idea how to fix that:confused1:
 
my NETGEAR WGR can handle like 2 wired connections and a wireless signal, i doubt it's that

i'm not saying that router model can't do it in general, i'm just saying that his particular router may not be able to do so for some reason:P
