Man... anytime I listen to this it makes me shiver and brings tears to my eyes because I think about all of the men and women that have given some, and some who have given all to protect and serve for the U.S.

If anyone else wants to post any other songs that brings a tear to your eye, then go ahead. Or, if you want to post your anthems for your country, state, or anything else, go ahead. Just keep the songs clean guys, I do NOT want any cussing songs in this thread.




PS. For some of the people that do not know how to post videos into your post itself, just put the youtube (or any other video sharing website) link by itself and it'll post it there.

I'm a native of Texas, so I love my American National Anthem... but one of the more beautiful pieces of patriotic music, in my opinion is the "Soviet National Anthem" which became the "Russian Federation National Anthem":

(I chose the video of the Olympics, because it was the only one I could find that wasn't full of Soviet Patriotic Imagry, and I think any discussion of Soviet politics is not the point of posting the song )

I'm also a fan of the Russian language. I just like the way it sounds.

This arrangement of the US National Anthem is CLOSE to the arrangement our marching band used in High School.. I'm not kidding, it brought tears to my eyes every time I heard it. I'll have to find that arrangement.

Radio Talk Host Mark Levin occasionally does a tribute to the armed forces of America, by playing all the "Songs" of each armed force. First time I heard it I had to pull over. This isn't his, but close enough.

well DeathShot regarding the video you posted it seemed to have a large spiritual message. you may not have seen it as such or even care but for those that want to be spiritual or those that are....we need to realize there isn't always peace and good things, especially after death. The choice is ours.

THe Narrator gives a pretty good background to the song but also "Trevelyan's corn" is a reference to Sir Charles Trevelyan who was Great Britain's Secretary of the Treasury for Irish Relief. When the potato famine occured he declared that it was god's punishment to the Irish people. This is another touching video of a song written by Tommy Mackem. THe narrator is an old woman and the song is a very brief summary of modern Irish history the four green fields represent the four provinces of Ireland. The fourth green field in bondage represents Northern Ireland the province of Ulster which still lies in British hands thus it is "in bondage." you can go on Wikipedia and learn more about the background of both songs. <br><br> I am an American with much Irish Lineage that I am very proud of. I support the nationalist movement in Northern Ireland and I support the peace process taking place there.<br><br>

Side note I do not support the IRA the PIRA or any other splinter groups. The only way Irish reunification will occur is through diplomacy and peace.<br><br>
