problems with the console

i have a problem with opening my console in game... i don't know if I am to stupid or if it's a problem with my pc. i want to bind a key to say "medic" but without open my console i dont know how to do.
so can anybody help me pls?

There is a file you can edit to add it, but why can you not open your console?

The console access needs to be tuned on. Look in the options tabs for your game and you should find a check box to select. Then go to your keyboard commands and select the key for the console. Most people I know use the apostraphe (`).
bind "`" "toggleconsole" should show up on your configuration file.

You should use the Tech Help forum for these questions.

The bind for medic looks like this:

bind "z" "say !medic"

Don't forget the exclamation mark!

Well there is an option in options>keyboard>advanced to turn on the console.

I usually bind in the CFG file in dod files in windows explorer.

Everyone here knows what they are talking about I tried editing the cfg file and it didn't work right so I found the console a lot easier, I personally have it binded to the f key that way it's right by my movement commands (i use the default for forward, back, left and right) that way while you are moving forward you can just find a spot to crouch and hit f. It works out really well for me.

go to options and find advanced...youll see it at the bottom somewhere...then itll open and click on console...or developers console...w/e it says...then press the ` button...though you probably know that

but i still cannot open my console :-O

in my keyboard commands where i can set a key for moving forward and so on.. (i hope you know what i mean ) there is no option of set a letter for open my console
i hate my pc

yeah i got same problem at start. Noone didnt know why it dont open as they got dno if its about where we live caus some other my european friends got same problem but heres to how.. go my games right click ur game witch u want look for properties-> Set Launch options... -> and then write -console that should help.. ( Helped me and alot of my european friends )
