UT3 crash weird

every time i start unreal, it plays the developer's adverts, eg, midway, epic games, intel centrino or whatever, but as soon as that collection finishes, it goes to the log in screen (specific to UT3) and terminates. does any one else have this problem, and do I have to re-install (over steam )? I should mention that it only occurs when my pc has been on for a bit, (not too long) and my only soloution is to restart my pc.

PS i've verified integrity cache and defraged

Try skipping the videos, hit Esc and see if it stays up.

I've tried skipping them, and watching them all

Is it when you sign in or just after a few seconds?

sometimes as soon as ads finish, but other times it get's a little further

Goto your UTengine.ini :

Open that in notepad, wordpad, whatever you like to use. You will now see this:

I bought a new 9800 GT last feb

steam error? when you start a steam game a error can popup and you most restart but you already started the game so go to steampowered.com and support. a new version off steam fixed that sort of problems...

It's a windows sort of error... not steam related.

Pooopants had this problem and he's sitting next to me, He says to update your video card drivers and it fixes it. He has Nvidia 8800gt so it should be the same for your 9800, just go to http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us and update the drivers

Sadly an updated driver won't work either.
