Well, im not sure how many people watch the news, or listen to the radio, or read the paper, or get intergalactic messages beamed to their house through a hologram, but for those people who dont know, North Dakota is currently fighting off the worst flood to hit this state, ever. So i bring you pictures, of sandbagging. These were taken at about 1:30, 2:00, and 6:00 PM CST respectively. Unfortunately i have been unable to get outside to take pictures of the river and stuff, but these are good. I will be going back to help with the effort once again from midnight till 3 or 4ish (once again CST)

I figured this would be interesting to some people :P

^^ Just the vast amount of people who came out to help, its unbelievable

^^ Once again, taken at about 2:00, look at the white area, those are all sandbags

^^ This is taken at 6:00, LOTS more sandbags, its crazy.

not to be a jerk but im glad i moved.

hopefully it works out for you guys

hahah munch your negativity gets us no where :P

jk

anyways, yeah. It truly is a great effort. I have seen 8-9 year olds out there, and i actually took over shoveling for someone who was 72 today. EVERYONE is out helping, and i also know that alot of people my age (17) are actually out helping. My math class consisted of 4 people today, when normally its 19. those people were out fighting the flood. And to know im a part of it, feels great. Well, the soreness and pain doesnt feel good at all, but the warm feeling you get inside, there is nothing to describe it.

The news here in Canada has been covering this quite a bit.
I only hope that it gets better before it gets worse. But from what I've heard,
that's not going to be the case. Kudos to you, for all the help you've given.

Be safe & good luck to you & yours.

Right now there is a huge blizzard hitting the midwest, namely here in Kansas. The whole radar has the state covered with snowstorm. It's almost the beginning of April and were expecting 8 inches of snow by tomorrow. First it was a rainstorm that turned into a blizzard, pretty crappy stuff.

Good luck to you and hope everything is okay.

yeah, im pretty sure mother nature hates us. We have created what people are saying is now a natural disaster. Unfortunately there have been so many volunteers they are telling people not to come out and help because of the need for no more people. Thanks for all the good wishes guys.

I dont get it they are telling you not to help? Wow thats crazy pics, where is the sand coming from? And you guys still have full electricity and phone lines i see your online. Good luck

well, anymore people coming in to help would just make it hard for things to run smoothly, so i understand that.

Where the sand is coming from? i have absolutly no clue, and i had no clue there was that much sand in the region lol.

Update: I stopped listening to predictions of where the river levels are supposed to be at. They have been everywhere from the river is done rising, to cresting at 43 feet. Currently its at 40.7. There has been a weakness spotted in one of the levee's and if it breaks, it would cause 10-20 miles around to become set in water. I am fortunate to not be part of the flooding currently, but if that levee breaks, the whole city is in trouble. Its really starting to set in on how crazy this actually is, and the devastation it could cause.

Ya, its getting pretty bad up here. Here are some more pics of the flooding in North Dakota and Minnesota:
My house hasn't been affected yet and it probably won't. we aren't in any flood prone areas.

I work at the local TV station and I've put in soooo many hours these last couple weeks because of March Madness and the Flooding. My paycheck is going to be awesome.

Anyway, hope yall up there in ND get through is!

no, in the stadium and stuff is for all the sandbags everywhere. it was just easier to do it there because its so wet and stuff outside.
