Hmm. Graphic Drivers problem now.

As you can tell from my other thread, I've been having steam troubles. With such troubles, I decided to (Once again) see if I could try another Graphic Driver.

I downloaded it, and I got an error message doing so. I know it's compatible with the 8800GS (My card), and the last version worked the last time I tried it (A few weeks ago).

The error says
The NIVIDA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware.


Which doesn't make sense, because the driver is compatible with the 8800GS

Now, even when rolling back to an older driver, I still get the same error.

Are you sure your downloading the correct driver?
What I use is

Option 2: Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products.

Saves some trouble incase I input bad info for any reason

could be a damaged card. try downloading the drivers that are only the display drivers stand alone, none of the other control center crap. I would say completely uninstall all nvidia things before you install another driver but you might be left SOL.

try using ccleaner as well to clean out the registry.

Already tried using CCleaner, will try downloading display drivers only, but where would I find them?

Maybe you should open up your case and see if everything is okay with the card.
It may have moved a bit while inside, messing things up...

I'll give it a shot, but it should work because I can play non-steam games perfectly fine, which means that it's still connected.

Do you have onboard video at all? You could try hooking up to the onboard (or use a different video card) and then completely uninstall and then reinstall the card.

you need to make sure you remove any older drivers first - things could be getting caught up on old files. use the uninstall program for your drivers, then you might need to go through your hard drive and manually delete any of the old driver files. after doing that, try downloading the latest release of drivers for your video card from the manufacturer's site and install again.

This actually allowed me to install the latest driver. This issue resolved.

Despite the fact I just downloaded the new drivers absolutely fine.

newer nvidia drivers are failing a lot...
i put the newest in my rig and couldnt get threw 1 game without BSOD hardware falling...
put in 1.5 year old DNA drivers not 1 problem.
nvidia has been dropping the ball on there drivers the past few months on drivers for older cards.
