Even though all of you see me using a RPG or Shtogun most of the time, for the longest time i've been hooked on the deadly art of sniping, the word itself 'snipe', is actually a type of bird. However, a sniper is one of the most feared warriors the battle field. Every country has its own unique form of snipers and sniper tactics. The Canadian Special Force's snipers are some of the best in the world, in Afganistan, March 2002, a Canadian sniper took out an insrugent at 2430 meters away, a record that still stands today. I have two videos here that i really enjoyed watching, helps chronicle the art of sniping. In the game itself, the INS sniper classes are very challenging to master, but when you do, you could potentionally be the deadliest weapon on your team.

If you haven't seen the movie, "Enemy at the Gate", you'er missing out.

What about the INS community, what you think about snipers?

Love'em? :blushing:, Hate'em? :chair:

I forget most of the time that you can set up the bipod or whatever with the sniper/marksman and really get precise that way. The trick is finding the useful places to do that from. I'm used to being on the move.. so for me the marksman gun makes a great noscope semi in regular fighting situations because of its power and rapid firing. Ya I do that, so sue me.

haha i know a perfect spot for sniping on each map. in case no body has noticed though, i love to snipe. especially on karkar

Sniping is a lot of fun. Most maps, I do well with it. Too bad the maps are kind of limited to the prime view and decent cover spots. Baghdad has to be one of the most intense and most underrated maps to snipe on.

I hate using the bipod, it double my sensitivity and throws me off.

Considering the previous record was set my an American using an M2 with a scope drilled into the receiver.... I think our guy should get some bonus meters... +500 for hitting a human target at 1500m with .50 BMG and + another 500 for using a non-sniper weapon. Plus, the Canadians get WAY better equipment than out guys for sniping. Don't get me wrong, the M14 is a great DMR... but it's not that effective beyond 1000m. On the other hand, the Canadians get C14 Timberwolves that shoot .338 Lapua, a round thats max range is at least 2000m("effective" range of 1400m). My favorite sniper kill, is one made by a Russian in WW2. He shot a German officer in a blown out building from about a mile using a Mosin-Nagant M91/30 with a 3.5x PU scope.

@First Video:

Love me some Arctic Warfare!

I'm an okay sniper. I don't much like the actual marksman classes, but I do enjoy occasionally sniping with an aimpoint, set to semiauto. I was picking off insurgents clear across karkar with my M4 Aimpoint, hiding up in that bush on the cliff. As for the snipers, the Drakov drives me crazy. Too much view restriction with the scope. I'd rather shotgun snipe than use that thing.

That is a technique they use to find the position of an enemy sniper, they raise their helmet up as if they were trying to look out the window, then the enemy sniper may or may not shoot at it, but if he does he will give away his position and the allied sniper will be able to take him out. :)

A real sniper takes atleast a day to get into position before taking out his target, 80 percent of the sniper's mission is to gather intel.

Yeah I don't think I could be a real life sniper... I mean some parts would be fun, like shooting the target. Other than that though would just kinda be lame and boring... maybe... I would have to try it out to give my full opinion.

Thanks for posting those youtubes of the sniper compilation was pretty awesome, kinda inspired me... Now I want to jump on INS after work and pick the marksman class...

Oh man, search "Seal Sniper" and watch those videos...wow, they also have a new scope where no matter where you gun is pointing the gyro inside the scope will make sure you last shot is just as accurate as your first.

Look who has a sniper team too!
