My friends, daughter Lily has entered a singing contest sponsored by USA Weekend. Contestants post their rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner" on YouTube and are rated for overall appeal of vocal performance, originality, accuracy of lyrics and popularity on YouTube.

The lucky winner and a companion will be flown to Washington, D.C. to sing the anthem at the National Museum of American History celebration of Flag Day and before a Baltimore Orioles game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, both on June 14.
