Does the weather effect anyone else's internet conection?

Only reason I'm asking I had 6.8 inches of snow ontop of several inches of ice this past weekend and my internet conection is lower then the sewer pipes atm. Then again where I live everyone including there dogs/cats/hamsters gets on the internet when a drop of rain hits the roof..

I don't think I can help with the pl VS value server for the rest of the day :facewall:
 
It effects mine a little but I think that is because the phone company has some sort of problem between my box and the main box that is affected by rain and snow. :facewall:
 
Let me be more clear on how bad things are now compaird to normal.. Google takes about 3 quick blinks to load, now it said can not find the page after 5 MINS OF LOADING!!
 
Depends whether you have satellite internet or cable internet. I have cable. No weather, no matter how severe, affects my speed. Of course, I do turn off my PC (making internet unusable :P) when there's a thunderstorm that may hit a power-line, making my PC short-out in power which can be fatal to it's hardware.

When Lady Thunder strikes, I can just unplug my charger and keep on burning things.
 
probly should be in a different thread but,


sometimes the weather will shutdown power for a split second and turns off my computer and what not, then sometimes i cant connect for a while

If you're running cable you may be seeing a slow down because everyone is home due the weather and using up all your bandwidth. Other than that the weather other than power outages should not effect your bandwith. suggestion switch to DSL.
 
I used to have a problem when a storm would hit, turns out it was some very old phone lines outside the house that drew in moisture. Phone company came out, ran new lines and all perfect now.
 
Well people, here in Texas - the only thing we have to worry about is crazy critters chewin` through our cables and freak storms. Bother are pretty common......
 
We have cable internet, and whenever it gets wet outside (snow, rain, etc.), we get slowdown too - we even get it if the neighbor overwaters the section of lawn that the cable is under. :P
