It's perfectly fine to never use AV software.







Just don't ever connect to the net or put any removable media into your computer :P
 
It better not activate the Boxxy virus, that will be the end of the e-world as we know it.
 
I don't see why anybody would not use ANY anti-virus. I mean at least use the free stuff...
 
I think this virus is real but i think that it will be fine for almost everyone in eGO because we have to keep an up-to-date computer just to play what we play anyways :]
 
you guys are over reacting... who cares? really? its not the end of the world if your computer gets infected...
 
This website can also remove Conficker from your computer. It can also scan your computer to see if Conficker is in your computer.

Not joking. I dont like anti virus programs and stuff like that, I just hate that it slows the computer down a whole lot.

EXCEPT, every 1 or 2 months I do install the latest AVG and scan my whole computer, then I uninstall it. SO far, not 1 single virus/malware/adware has infected my computer over the past 7 months and no problems

I am behind like 3 firewalls though. and I dont really go to a bunch of different websites everyday. Myspace, Facebook, EGO are like the only sites I go to.

you probably dont care cause you dont have anything important to lose. when you have credit card accounts and money issues that you can lose thats scary :cursing:

i have plently to lose and so on, but im not worrying about it cause this is just a hoax.

It activated twelve minutes ago. All this did was update the current strain. Your computers are not radioactive slop right now.

I'm using an antivirus system I built using free programs on the internet. I'm completely fine. There's no need to go buy the Norton Anti-Hackatron 822231.4 Laser Removal System.

Patch up Windows XP, scan for viruses here: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

You're completely fine. I've got 831 viruses trying to steal my Lineage password. Other than that I'm completely clean, and I use FileFront, MU, and RS more than most people here ever will. Relax.
 
you shouldnt worry unless you already have it, which then can silently send your information to a database. this is only worrysome for people who know nothing about computers and dont understand the text "windows update"
 
you will never use more download sites then me phoenix, but yea, im ok right now, nothing happened to me. hopefully it will stay that way ;)

well, whoever did put this out to try to scare people, if he/she is ever caught, boy, do i feel sorry for what will happen to them lol

Cmon... this just sounds like either:

A) An over exaggerated virus, that chances are you have to try to get it.

B) April Fools Hoax

C) I dont really care if I lost everything because I can reformat?

D) I have Linux so bye bye Windows?

or

E) Its like EVERY OTHER VIRUS AS ITS PURPOSE IS TO INFECT AND SPREAD so chances are it'll last a day



See for me I can reformat, with Boot N Nuke (A Linux Kernal that is close to Gov Grade Wiping)
so whatevz...



Ohh yeah: OVER EXAGGERATION isnt cool... Even if its a botnet, easiest thing to do and prevent viruses, turn off your wireless and unplug your nic. Tah dah :D!\

An anti virus software such as Trend Micro, Norton, AVG, Kaspersky, or what ever AV software you have, will protect you anyways and youll be fine

Eset Smart Security and the Leet Windows Firewall. I'm safe.
 
I would just watch what you download... you should have nothing to worry about. (dont answer emails that you dont know!)
