Western Digital Enters SSD Market

For those of you that don't know what an SSD is, it stands for Solid State Drive; it is a hard drive that uses flash memory, worth much more than normal hard drives because of its robustness, quick boot-up time, fast performance, and additional/potential features/functionality, while maintaining to be environmentally friendly (low power consumption).

I work for a company called SiliconSystems Inc. I wanted to share some news and joy with everyone today, as today goes down big in history for me. Western Digital, world's 2nd largest hard drive manufacturer, bought out our company, SiliconSystems Inc. today. Presently, I am holding forms to fill out because I start today as a Western Digital employee.

Today was definitely a surprise for me, but it was a decent surprise! Right as life throws curve balls at me with lots of trouble, a little glimmer shines here. It is such a great feeling!
 
Wow. WD doing SSD drives? Methinks this could be a big deal. I just hope they can use their wizardy of mass production to bring the prices down.

I have a 16 GB Flash drive USB.(SSD)

Now i want to see how Big they will be and how much they will charge for their first Drives to be launched. Good step in technology and good step for you as an employee.
Less power needed and for sure they will be silent that is good for us and the environment. Good news

Following current trens a 64 Gb SSD is like 199.00 it will prolly be the same , and send me some stuff mr westerdigital employee:P
 
lol i wish it was free, but if he is a employee he gets a discount on new things meanie! o.0 you can see if they want to support eGO! cause we are awsome lol. :)
 
haha... I would look into it. See if WD can support you guys one day, though asking right now would be a bit early. In any case, I may consider donating some hardware if we need hard drives or what not, or at least have them cost-reduced like mad. Just let me know.
