I need help on finding a new video card

ok right now i have a radeon x1300/x1550 series card. i know its bad and thats whats failing me on sytem requirements for new games. any advice on a reasonably priced good video card?

Best cards for value for a PCIe 16 is the GTX 275 and the HD 4890. both about 250 dollars. if you are looking for cheaper you need to post your system, budget, and games played.

I have a 9600 GT, great card, was the best card for the money when I bought it. Right now though, that Sapphire 4830 is a MUCH better deal. It out performs the 9600GT, and is cheaper. If you look at that Tom's Hardware article, they compare the 8800/9800 with the 4830, and the 4830 is still less than the 9600.

the 9600 will keep you happy for about 6 more months once the new generation of games come out you will not be happy with that card

if your going nivida 9800gt or GTX 260

if your going ATI 4850 or 4870 or 4890

I would go with nvidia 8800Gt 512MB its perfect for the games u play u will be able to play them at max settings and u can get one for 60-100 easily. cheack tigerdirect.com for one

If you can spend more than 100, then by all means, get a 4850, but the best card under 100 is still the 4830.

the only thing hardcore about the 4890 is how over budget it would be. Obviously the 4830 isn't the best card out there, but ignoring his budget constraints and suggesting the 4890 is about as helpful as telling him to 3-way SLI 295 GTX's...

The 4850 uses the same chip as the 4830, but is a bit faster. If you want to spring for the nicer card, go for it. The performance isn't that much greater, and they will be obsolete at about the same time.

4670 is the best card for 100$ and below. I have one and get average of 90 fps on CSS.

Ya i got Dual 8800 GT 512MB and they work perfect. Basically 8800GT is the 9800GT. So go with the 9800GT and they go around 150 i believe.

I would suggest a 4850 or 9800GT, depending on what brand you prefer. As the "next generation" of video cards came out recently, the prices on those two cards should have dropped.
