Hello eGO:

Fellow Pilots and I use this when we talk to ATC (Air Traffic Control) for instructions when we want to taxi, takeoff or land. Without looking it up on the internet try and guess what each letter stands for. It is the regular alphabet but each letter (ABC) stands for something different. The Actual one is posted below: Post how many you got right :) COVER UP THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE!

ALPHA BRAVO CHARLIE DELTA ECHO FOXTROT GULF HOTEL INDIA JULIET KILO LIMA MIKE NOVEMBER OSCAR PAPA QUEBEC ROMEO SIERRA TANGO UNIFORM VICTOR WHISKEY X-RAY YANKEE ZULU

i got 8...probably could have gotten 10-12 if i put my mind to it...or played battleship recently...:P

use them daily at work XD. once you learn them they change from how civilians use There ABC's
XD

Adam, Boy, Charles, David, Edward, Frank, George, Henry, Ida, John, King, Lincoln, Mary, Nora, Ocean, Paul, Queen, Robert, Sam, Tom, Union, Victor, William, X-ray, Yellow, Zebra

That is the phonetic alphabet for Law Enforcement...took me forever to transition.

Also its GOLF not GULF

hahah cool! im actually going into law enforcement! im joining LAPD

I was taught Golf, as opposed to Gulf. But it has been a long time since I got my radio telephone operators card. Things have probably changed since I was a cadet in Civil Air Patrol.

Hello, as to Golf - Gulf. My way of spelling it is no different. In Aviation, it is spelled this way, in terms for atc's business. I should have worded it better, if I didn't direct you to Aviation, and not the Police etc...

i think the police should use the Phenetic Alphabit same thro all US agencies tbh, make it so much easier to remember.

I work with activation codes at work for software so I have to quote these all of the time. We also play games with the alphabet. Like Name of types of Liquir or types of animals.

I'm a radio Dispatcher.. I hope I got these right..

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Violet, Whiskey, X-Ray, Yankee, Zulu.

hehe...I'm not good at all with either method...but, that's cool... My car's navigation systems seems to use something slightly different... I'm not sure...kinda forgot...I'll type it on here if it's different though

I was in the Canadian Armed Forces COMBAT ARMS for 3 years We used the same code..... I was in DELTA squad :) but I did get a couple wrong, since I have been out for more than 20 years lol

got all right as us to be in the army :D

plus me old man ( dad ) is a police officer learned em all when i was young

They showed up before I could cover them, but I did know a majority of them to be completely honest.

I knew them all, but my whole family and my husband are current or ex military. And supposedly law enforcement uses them to differentiate between the agencies, or that's what I was told when I worked as Correctional officer at the prison here in town.
