What would you buy? Gaming Keyboard/Mouse?

What would you buy 1st a gaming keyboard or a mouse?
See im pretty much sided for they keyboard, but most of the people i asked always bought a mouse, or mouse before keyboard. I would like to know why
Give me up/downs of both gaming and mouse.
(i plan on getting a Razer Tarantula Keyboard...the mouse Razer Lachesis)

I agree for the exact opposite reasons. A new gaming mouse will vastly improve your game, espcially if you are still playing with a normal desktop mouse. A keyboard is a keyboard, you press keys on it. Unless something is broken, it will perform almost like your old one. A mouse on the other hand will be much better new. You will most likely get one that is lighter, one that is more sensitive, has better DPI (means it tracks the mouse movement better) and will have handy binds.

And to add comment to Blackhawk, most 'basic' keyboards only have max input of like 3-5 keys at once, so when your movin talkin in vent and jumpin .. somethin might not work when you get all that goin on =p

mouse first by far!! better DPI, response times, accuracy, there's a bunch of stuff a gaming mouse can improve, i play with a standard wireless mouse, and i bet if i got a DeathAdder or any decent gaming mouse i'd see instant improvement, but changing my keyboard wouldn't do that much, i'd pretty much move the same ;p the only real advantages in gaming keyboards is when you need loads of binds and macro keys, like in RPGs, not in FPSs!!

I agree with the mouse, it controls alot of actions esp in fps games, the better the control/sensitivity and funtions it has can definitely enhance or hinder, kinda like the saying "youve never had bad wine until youve had good wine" goes for a good mouse and a gaming headset too.

i would have to say go with a mouse first. The response time alone you will get with a new mouse will improve your fps gaming. Not to mention that the extra buttons make web surfer alot faster. only this that make one keyboard better then another is its extras. Such as lights and displays. other then that a keyboard is a keyboard is a keyboard. But if your using a stardard desktop mouse then you need to get a new mouse first.

Yes A GOOD MOUSE IS FIRST!..WEll I dont really care.. but theI gameing keyboard has SOME side affects...or maybe its just me but. Once u are hooked on that gameing side of the keybaord it is VERY VERY hard to go back to the reg keyboard..

I had a first generation G15 until it died on me. () I used to play lots of RTS and MMORGPs and I only used a few macro keys. IMHO, unless you already know what macros you will use the keys for, you probably don't need them. I am now using a Logitech Illuminated keyboard (3 year warranty) and the only thing I miss is the screen.

Long story short, get a gaming mouse first.

Hehe, I used to think that the type of mouse didn't matter until I got my G5. Yes, it makes the difference.

Yeah, I agree with most of the people who posted: mouse. You can move just as quickly on an old/plain keyboard (barring incredible key lag, which almost no keyboards have), but aiming is a lot more variable (would analog be the right word?), so a mouse is important.

Mouse. I have G5 and I can't ever go back to a crappy mouse, while my keyboard is a cheap, low end logitech, and it works just fine.

Depends on the current condition of your equipment. If you current mouse is of good quality and you KB just blows, upgrade the KB and vice versa.

If they are about the same, go with the mouse first.
