Is there any way to save bandage.mp3 so it doesn't have to download it every time? I know its not that big but it ads at least 10-15 seconds to connection time and it just bugs me

Yeah so I know that's dumb, but it adds about a min to my time LOL. Sometimes it's a real pain x.x

What Kelndle is trying to say, i think, is that if your connection is 100KB/second you will download that in 1/10 seconds.

It is true when you join it shows "Downloading bandage.mp3" for a few seconds or longer, but that is just the dialog box, it would have finished downloading and it is working on other tasks to join. You should defragment your local game files if it is that slow, and your computer maybe.

For some reason, it doesn't work for me. The file downloads, but errors appear in the console whenever I hit that keybind. Medic works itself, but the only sound I hear is the scream "Medic!", and then it does the quick partial fade to black. Anyone know how to fix this?

Delete the bandage.mp3 from dod/sound/. Once DOD is started up, go to settings, MultiPlayer, and then on the bottom right there is a drop down box - select Allow all Downloads from server.

Connect to server and test.

Oddly enough, I don't have a dod/sound directly, and bandage.mp3 is nowhere on my computer. The "Allow all downloads" has been permitted. The following errors appear when I enter the game, if they help at all; the last one is specifically "bandage.mp3":

Yeah I'm fully aware that it's only 10k It just hangs there for a min or two, So I curse that file, knowing full well it's not whats taking so long. LOL just means I need a better computer.
