Looking for some INS tips...

Hey guys, I am from the tf2 division and I decided that I would like to give INS a try. But before I go into your servers and make a complete fool of myself I was looking for some tips to get started in the world of INS.

I use to be big into CS a couple of years ago, so I am hoping that that experience will help me from being completely terrible lol. But any advice you guys have for me would be awesome!! :thumbup1:

Everyone does awful the first time they play. After an hour or 2 you'll start to catch on.

Sadly, CS:S nor TF2 are similar to INS. The hardest thing is the confusion. The hit indicators only work when you are shot, and are inaccurate at best. There is no minimap (although there is a mega map.) Most servers have FF on, and the skins can look similar. You are also more than welcome to attend one of our Bootcamp events to help you become acquainted with the game's weapons and tactics. You can sign up in the scrim and events section under the INS div tab when they post a signup roster. I highly recommend you attend. INS is a very realistic game, and requires a lot of teamwork and patience to learn. Its a very steep learning curve, but with the bootcamp, it lessens the degree of difficulty a bit.

Teamwork, communication, stay covered as much as possible, try out every weapon once or twice til you find a one that you are comfortable with to use, go to FF OFF server then move to FF ON once you feel safe enough to where you won't TK everyone... I don't know there is so much to this simple game... Fun though, if any questions just give me a post in my profile or in-game is fine to...

Yup, don't worry about making a fool of yourself. Everyone has been there and you won't be the only one.

The best tip I can give that takes as little effort on your part is to always look before you run. Look for cover, look for enemies, and look for friendlies, but mainly look for cover. You don't want to start sprinting realize you're under fire and then be looking for cover while you're sprinting around getting shot.

Other than that, go to boot camp. Swat is a great guy, a great player, and a great teacher. I believe the next one is tomorrow actually so it'd be a great way to start off your INS gaming.

The m203 has indirect fire capabilities. Not to mention the lack of back blast which makes it perfect for using in the apartments of almaden.

when you fire an rpg the rocket creates a back blast in order to thrust itself. So, if your buddy is standing behind you, his face will be a bit crispy.

mow down your teammates? That's not exactly the kind of gameplay we encourage..

Even though I understand the game, I still would like more tips to make me a better player.

P.S. I wish my own teammates wouldn't walk in front of me while laying heavy fire. They need to be more observant of their surroundings instead of leaping without looking where there landing. I hate when my score decreases from an accidental kill when it could have been avoided.
