cod4 cd key?

Recently I bought a cd key from beta for cod4...it worked for installation but when i tried to play multiplayer it said cd key already in use?...whats up w/ that?

Just posting here, i dont want to look like a scammer

the key was given to me by someone since they had no use for the game, i have never tried it but i was told it was legit. im not sure if the key is still being used or COD4 has some system where a CD key can only be used once.

It means some 1 else is useing that key,right at that time.

edit: on second thought i don't think your admin would work online if its not steam

CoD never had bundled cd-keys, so what that means is that if the other person is already logged in, you can't both play simultaneously, so maybe the person who gave the key to Beta also gave it to someone else who is using it! Beta, check with the person who gave it to ya, ask if he's playing or if he gave it to anyone else!!

In recently new games like CoD4, Game developers have made it so you can only use a CD key for 1 online account. You cant have 2 online accounts with the same cd key. the original buyer already activated the cd key online. Unless he gives you the account info, you can only play single player.

sooo yes I believe CoD4 has the system where the CD key can only be used once.

Not true at all killer, I've had to reinstall my cod4 several times each making a brand new account, even on a new computer.. all worked fine. ]

Next time you buy a cd key ask for it first before purchasing.

cod admin is different than sourcemod admin. i have a regular copy of the game as well and my admin works fine in there.
but as some one else stated, beta you probably should check to see if that person ripped you off as well and gave it to another person.
